Sometimes I am surprised at how seldom I get out of town. Although I enjoy the occasional forays to other realms, I find that I really have everything I need right here in Mesquite. I can satisfy my craving for the great outdoors, the majority of my daily living needs can be met by local businesses and there is always an event or meeting to attend. I am still baffled by those who say there is nothing to do. Get up, get out and just do it.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Kathy Lee's mother, Anna Mae Capelle and would like to dedicate this issue in her honor. Anna Mae was a fascinating woman with a history rich in the performing arts and an unsurpassed dedication to family. We will miss you.
